Hi all,

This past week my family and I went to Copenhagen for five days, and Milo and I took a solo trip to Oslo afterwards to explore a Scandinavian city together that we’ve never been to. I’m writing this at 32,000 feet somewhere between Copenhagen and Glasgow, sipping on a Coca Cola and sampling a Danish chocolate bar called “Peanott Kubbe” that’s as sickly sweet as an American version, and filled with nougat, puffed rice and peanut butter. Definitely a missed opportunity to do a full blow Danish snack review on this flight!

This week, I’m going to share our Google Maps list filled with great restaurants, bars, and stores we went to, and for my paid subscribers, the top 10 best things that we did in Copenhagen, with images, reviews, stories, and all the reasons you should visit all these wonderful spots. My list only scratches the surface of what Copenhagen has to offer and is by no means comprehensive. We were staying in Norrebro, a hip, younger neighborhood which I’ve been told is the “Brooklyn” of Copenhagen, and so you’ll notice many of the saved spots are there. I hope you find this list helpful if you’re planning a future trip to this lovely city - we had a great time!

Juno the Bakery - I loved this bakery and am so happy that we took the time to make the trip. Juno the Bakery is in a district of the city called Osterbro, which is a bit sleepier and residential on the northern edge of Copenhagen. The laminated pastries and cardamom buns are definitely worth writing home about (as I’m doing!), with some people declaring the cardamom buns the best in the city. While I didn’t sample enough cardamom buns to make that definitive declaration, the ones served at Juno were exceptional and perfectly chewy, yeasty and sweet. We also sampled a pistachio swirl, a chocolate croissant, and tried their take on a Danish staple, a bun with a generous spread of butter and slices of cheese. All of them were exceptional and this place is special!
